News
The Olympics were a phenomenal event - notwithstanding lingering questions about human rights and empty seats – but did they succeed on a sporting level?
Without doubt is the overwhelming response. Usain Bolt’s incredible sprinting and Michael Phelp’s eight golden moments defined the event and the awesome architecture and scale will frame the memory.
But what for London 2012? Well, watch this space, but Design for Sport will be at the forefront of the action and if we can help you achieve your Olympic aims, drop us a line.
Other news
Design for Sport were commissioned last year to design and install wings and propellers on the famous car Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. After a great deal of time and effort the side wings are finally operational. With a computer controlled brain, wireless key fob operation and multiple motors this was not a trivial project, but the results are excellent.
Innovation
Lacoste have spent a deal of time and money promoting their vision of tennis in the future. Very Star Trek we reckon, but a nice movie nonetheless and micro-site.
New Product Development
This isn't ground breaking but it is an interesting iteration of the sit on scooter for kids: Okiedog. Anything that gets children engaged, looks and works well and increases activity has to be a good thing. Unfortunately, we don’t read Korean so availability might be an issue!
Olympic News
Marina Hyde in the UK Guardian newspaper came across an interesting sport / wellness setup in China when she was there reporting the background around the Beijing events.
We have been working on a similar device completely independently so this caught us out a bit, but ours is more sophisticated and perhaps better targeted towards a western audience - contact us for more details.
